These homeowners have DIY'd a ton of projects to restore their Craftsman-styled 1920s Colonial's original charm. Their most recent project was building a chicken coop for 6 hens in the backyard!
Built by George and Rebecca Barnes in 1853, it became a center of civic-minded activity in our community. Today the Mansion is the home of the George & Rebecca Barnes Foundation. The home housed The Corinthian Foundation and Corinthian Club, a wildly popular private women’s social club from 1964 to 2008 and was also the original home of LeMoyne College classes, beginning in 1946.

With a background in interior design and landscape design, these homeowners have transformed their bungalow while maintaining its original character and maximizing the use of space. In the back yard, hardscaping and large containers maximize gardening potential and minimize damage by energetic dogs.
This homeowner has spent 25 years improving this meticulously cared for Eastwood bungalow, which is her home and the office of her architectural firm. Click the photo for a link to Group 1 Design.
Believed to be the oldest house in Eastwood, this home has a fascinating history! Click the photo to learn more.

This homeowner is the brain behind “Buy Nothing Eastwood,” a Facebook group dedicated to helping neighbors swap and barter to reduce consumption and foster sustainability. Her tastefully decorated home is filled with with secondhand items, but you’d think it was furnished from a trendy boutique.

2023 Eastwood Home & Garden Tour Presented by Sarah Barrows, Keller Williams Realty
On Saturday, June 24, 2023, ENA hosted our first-ever Eastwood Home & Garden Tour presented by Sarah Barrows, Keller Williams Realty, and sold over 200 tickets! Tour goers were able to visit 5 Eastwood homes and gardens. The tour raised over $2,300 to support Eastwood beautification projects such as flags for James Street, planters, and plants. Thank you to our event sponsor, Sarah Barrows, to Nav’s Popcorn for letting us set up shop in their store Saturday, to the homeowners for the time and effort the put into opening their homes to the community, to SyracuseHistory for helping promote the event and research the houses, and to the many volunteers who made the event possible. It was a great opportunity to show off the beauty of Eastwood and we were visited by many who were new to the neighborhood and quite a few former residents coming back to see how it looks today. Despite the rain, tour goers gave the event rave reviews. We had so much fun we can’t wait until next year’s tour! You can download the 2023 Tour Booklet here.
