Gentle Cardio, Strength & Balance

Class starts next week! A moderate aerobics class taught by certified instructor, Paula Pacini.

8 weeks: March 18, 25; April 8, 15, 22, 29 & May 13, 20 (Skipping April 1 and May 6)

Mondays at 5:15 PM; Each class is 50-60 minutes

Cost (for the whole 8-week series): $20 for ENA members. $30 for non-members includes registration and individual lifetime membership.

ENA, Paine Branch Library, and the Onondaga County Master Gardener Program are co-sponsoring a series of garden lectures this spring!

Speaking of Gardening… Spring is right around the corner!

The ENA Beautification Committee is looking for volunteers interested in helping maintain the many public planting beds throughout Eastwood. It’s a great project to share with your kids!

To get involved, email beautification@eastwoodneighbor.com. We’ll host a meet and greet on March 23 at 11:00 AM at The Cracked Bean Roastery and Cafe (2384 James St).

 

Eastwood Earth Day Cleanup

Saturday April 13, 10:00 - 1:00

Mark your calendars and plan to join your neighbors in cleaning up the neighborhood! End with a pizza party and prize raffle for volunteers. Details coming soon. Keep an eye on our events calendar and our Facebook page for details.

 

Eastwood Community Scholarships

ENA offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors. We are now accepting applications for the Margaret McVicker and Tom White Scholarships. Applications are due by 5:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

 

Eastwood Home & Garden Tour Sponsored by Sarah Barrows, Keller Williams Real Estate

Mark your calendars for our second annual Eastwood Home & Garden Tour on Saturday, July 13.

Tickets available soon. Ticket sales benefit Eastwood Beautification Projects. 

We need your help to make this event a success. We’re currently in need of volunteers to help on the day of the event, volunteers interested in helping plan the event, and homeowners willing to open their homes and/or gardens for the tour.

Up to $50,000 Available for Eastwood Homeowners for Flood Mitigation & Energy Improvements

Local Syracuse housing nonprofit, Home HeadQuarters, is now offering the New York State Resilient Retrofits Program that provides up to $50,000 to eligible homeowners to undertake flood mitigation activities and energy improvements. The program highlights a 50-50 1% loan with matching grants of up to $25,000 to address flooding, energy efficiency and other code-related improvements to the home. Homeowners must undertake at least one flood mitigation activity as part of the overall home improvement and household income must be at or below 120% of the Area Median Income.

  • Examples of flood mitigation activities:

  • Install a Backwater Valve

  • Elevate Electrical Equipment

  • Install a Sump Pump or Flood Vent
