Beautification Committee

Join us for our next Beautification Committee meet-up at 9:30 AM on Sunday, May 19 at the Cracked Bean Coffee Roastery on James Street for great coffee and delicious breakfast treats. At 10:00 we’ll depart in groups to tackle several public flower beds. Each month we’ll focus on a different group of planters. This month we’ll focus on the beds in Greenway Park (James and Grant) and in front of the Fire Station at Midler and Burnet, weeding and planting annuals. We’ll also discuss long-term plans for our public garden beds and other spaces that need attention.

Interested in adopting an Eastwood flower bed? Contact beautification@eastwoodneighbor.com.

Eastwood Memorial Day Parade

Mark your calendars for Monday, May 27. The Eastwood Memorial Day Parade starts at 9:00 AM at James and Nichols and ends at the Greenway Veterans Memorial Park at James and Grant (in front of Walgreens). Bring your lawn chairs and set up anywhere along James Street to enjoy the parade!

If you have a youth sports team, club, veterans organization, or other group that would like to participate in the parade with a float or walking, register here by May 24.

We’re seeking volunteers to help with traffic control at certain intersections. Enjoy a great view of the parade and earn a cool Eastwood t-shirt! If you’d like to volunteer, please sign up here.

Walk Eastwood Challenge

Eastwood is Syracuse’s largest and most walkable neighborhood. To prove it, we’re walking all 99 streets, 43 miles of roads, this summer. And we’re challenging our neighbors to get out and walk every street in Eastwood with us! Come join us and get to know Eastwood.

This is our 2nd Annual Walk Eastwood Challenge. Get started now! You can track your walk on a paper map, using this list of Eastwood streets, or using one of many free walk tracking apps.

This year we’re using the honor system. 2024 Walk Eastwood Challenge shirts must be ordered by October 1 to pick yours up at our 2024 ENA Annual Meeting on October 29.

Eastwood Home & Garden Tour Sponsored by Sarah Barrows, Keller Williams Real Estate

Mark your calendars for our second annual Eastwood Home & Garden Tour on Saturday, July 13.

Tickets available soon. Ticket sales benefit Eastwood Beautification Projects.

We need your help to make this event a success. We’re currently in need of volunteers to help on the day of the event, volunteers interested in helping plan the event, and homeowners willing to open their homes and/or gardens for the tour.

Do you or someone you know have a particularly magnificent home or garden? Please consider opening your home for the tour and showing off how beautiful Eastwood is. We will provide volunteers to assist with guiding and supervising visitors to your home. For more info, email info@eastwoodneighbor.com or call Katelyn at 559-816-7749.
